OLOF PALME – ZERO HOUR
Sweden fooled Germany, Sweden fooled the World
Lisbeth was never hit, but her coat was. And sent to Wiesbaden
3.6.2013.
My story continues in English, giving a number of the Palme Murder highlights, about which I have previously written to the SPIEGEL. It is not the full story – which has yet to be written – but enough to entice you to look inte this black mattter, via your own proficient staff reporters.
The Swedish Government fooling the West German Government should, as I just mentioned in German, be of specific interest to the SPIEGEL.
A Superb Agatha Mystery
”Murder,” said Inspector Battle, ”is the culmination of a lot of different circumstances, all converging at a given time. The murder itself is the end of the story. It´s Zero Hour.” In this Agatha Christie masterpiece of murder, Zero Hour brings brutal death to an old woman whose life has harmed no one and whose death benefits no one. But this is not the end, nor is it meant to be.
A girl confesses to a crime she did not commit. A child turns in fury on its playmate. A would-be suicide returns to the place where he had attempted destruction. Slowly coming in on the murderer, Inspector Battle realizes that all the apparently unrelated episodes are connected. Then, understanding the diabolical mind that planned violent death, Battle forces the killer to face his own Zero Hour.
This text stems from the cover of an Agatha Christie pocket book. It may connote the following text about the ”Zero Hour” of the Palme Murder.
The Zero Hour concept may apply to many murders, but it fits in specially well with the murder, February 28, 1986, of the Swedish Prime Minister and Social Democratic Party Leader Olof Palme, the man who, when he was ignominiously shot to death, was Sweden´s hub.
Everything, practically everything, had been planned beforehand, most of it long beforehand. When the accurate time-planning, down to every millimetre and every second, lay on the desk, this preliminary work had been on-going for at least a couple of months, but before that, the ”idealistic” and ideological preparations had been under way for a year, at least. The blue copy of the murder already existed. The shot outside the ”Dekorima” shop in Sveavägen in Stockholm City was a small remaining detail.
It is this year-long planning precision which, from the start, has been concealed by the men behind the murder, hidden to us, the gallery spectators, the Swedish public. No, it has always been pointed out by the conspirators, that it was a lone criminal who was seen escaping up the flight of steps to the Brunkeberg Hill, it was a lone criminal who had furnished his cronies with walkie-talkies, manuals för radio transmission and maps with flight plans, with drawings for every detail of the bogus ambulance system to be implemented for the murdered Premier, communicated to the secretly hired and informed staff at Sabbatsberg Hospital: ”This is what you should say. That there was a hole shot through the brown fur coat…” All this the murderer is supposed to have done, all he alone.
Must not accept a lift from Grand Cinema!
Everything connected with the Palme couple´s complicated visit to the Grand Cinema before the Zero Hour must be thought out, complete with spare solutions in case of hitches. Lisbeth Palme must ward off any proposal of a lift back home to the Old City in the chill of the February night, the couple must cross the wide Sveavägen Avenue and its heavy traffic, they must walk towards ”Dekorima”, towards Zero Hour.
No personal guards can be on duty, so suspend the guard! And if the complicated ambulance transportation, by the ”wrong” ambulance, were to be delayed, after the contact with the police inspector´s car in Stockholm North, in Vasastan, way off the ordinary route to Sabbatsberg Hospital, forgers of Olof Palme´s admission time to Sabbatsberg Hospital must be on the alert to fake a better time of arrival, to be noted on the journal.
Much to think about, as in a family before Xmas, but here the family are policemen, with their cronies in the defense system (to defend whom?) and the Security Service etc.
Money must be got hold of. Could financier Peter Wallenberg offer cash for the Putsch? He certainly could. And a gunman must be hired, at heavy cost. Where find him? Of course from the Stockholm Police A-group, among his comrades of the same persuasion. The gunman will be Sweden´s herostratically most renowned person ever. Anti Avsan was picked at an early stage, with perfect merits. Crack shot, no nerves.
Remained only to get Olof and Lisbeth Palme in position. Nothing must fail, for then the whole million crowns undertaking (Million? Billion…) would topple at the last moment. Lisbeth Palme held the key, and she used it. Arm in arm with her husband, so soon to die, she led him along the slippery Sveavägen pavement to Zero Hour. Wearing what coat? The brown fur coat or the dark coat in black cloth, with strap and hood?
It was this penetrated fur coat that was quickly dispatched to Bundeskriminalamt down at Wiesbaden, but it is the dark coat that Lisbeth Palme wears on the photo taken at Sabbatsberg Hospital, after she had been driven there in the police inspector´s car.
Lisbeth Palme leaving the police inspector´s car at Sabbatsberg Hospital, having a few minutes earlier deserted her husband Olof´s ambulance before its arrival at the hospital. This photo, this statement, have never been contradicted.
A police inspector´s car? Yes. She had switched from ambulance to police car in far away Vasastan, having deserted her dying or possibly dead husband´s ambulance near Odengatan – perhaps the most shattering event right after Zero Hour. Ambulance people I have talked to know no parallel. Dying or dead? No one could know for sure, before death had been certified by a Sabbatsberg doctor at 0.06 hrs on the first morning of March, 1986.
I have described Lisbeth Palme´s shameful activities at Dekorima in my book The Murder Closes Round Lisbeth Palme/ Mordets dunkel tätnar kring Lisbeth Palme /2012– this is the book in my Palme production which has caused the most controversy: could Lisbeth have…?
But there is a picture to prove.
The Fur Coat
The fur coat was thus dispatched to the then West German Wiesbaden, but had the shooting really been performed, with Lisbeth Palme wearing the fur coat? Or had the fur coat been shot through after the murder, under laboratory conditions – and had the Bundeskriminalamt been fooled?
Bundeskriminalamt in Wiesbaden found no human remains on any of the two alleged Palme bullets, but did not question the authenticity, did not ask for a Lisbeth Palme medical certificate, to prove possible injury. Bundeskriminalamt could have arrested the on-going spurious Swedish police investigation.
It has always been difficult, not to say impossible, to believe that a bullet could have passed through the narrow gap between fur coat and the victim´s back without injuring either Lisbeth Palme or the furry inside of the coat. Her back would have been badly hurt, as would the inside of the coat, next to the body. We are not allowed to see and hold the coat.
These pictures were taken in Wiesbaden by the Bundeskriminalamt´s photographer, who evidently must have thought that this was a genuine piece of evidence he had before him. It was not. It was a lie, it was high treason. Lisbeth Palme was never hit by any bullet.
”Sehr Geehrte Kollegen in Wiesbaden, wir schicken Ihnen Frau Palmes Mantel mit Gewebedurchtrennungen…” - an insult to the West German authorities.
Palme fired at or not? It has been under discussion why the conspirators have been so anxious to make the Swedish public believe this story. In order to show that the murderer did all in his might to get rid of a dangerous witness? This has always sounded complicated. If the murderer had really wanted to kill Lisbeth Palme he could not have missed. But he did not want to kill his conspiratrix.
The story of the shot directed at Lisbeth Palme does not come to earth at Dekorima but at Sabbatsberg Hospital, more than an hour later, when Lisbeth Palme, referring to an alleged pain, asked her brother-in-law Åke Nilzén, Professor of Dermatology, who as a near relative was present in the waiting-room, to sponge this spot with a wad of cotton. Nilzén, according to his brother-in-law Claës Palme, whom I knew personally, found no trace of a wound whatsoever.
If Nilzén had discovered a wound and not asked for the special certification required, this would have been a grave breach of medical conduct. Police have never touched this story, always anxious to guard Lisbeth Palme´s privacy.
The special Commission of Law Experts, appointed by the Swedish Government shortly after the murder, eyes in its report with great concern the non-existing medical certification and points out that this fact may well affect later inquiries into the very murder of Olof Palme; a grave accusation coming from the state´s own consultants. The matter is noted in a report paragraph, but it has never been reviewed by assassination inquirers or police. The official attitude still is that Lisbeth Palme had a very narrow escape, being fired at by the (lone!) murderer.
Further tasks for the conspirators? Oh yes.
Olof Palme must be picked up by an ambulance driver instructed to make a long detour from Dekorima to Sabbatsberg Hospital. He must stop somewhere in Vasastan and await the arrival of the police inspector´s car, let Lisbeth Palme leave the ambulance and her dying/dead husband, let Lisbeth Palme switch coats, and, at long length, continue to Sabbatsberg after this historically unique interruption, with the police car following after an unknown number of minutes.
In the picture was also the other ambulance, the Sabbatsberg ambulance, which had been ordered to Dekorima but must be stopped: ” What is this, we have already had one ambulance?”
This complicated ambulance planning must have called for several accomplices, some of them alerted to falsify Olof Palmes hospital journal.
I am not noting every single remarkableness. Most remarkable is perhaps the fact that everything, in spite of so many threatening stumbling-blocks and pitfalls., was a success. But the conspirators were lucky, and they are, if you wish, lucky to this day.
If someome had stumbled, what would have happened? Nothing, really?
Yes I think so. There was an applied intricate security thinking over the whole affair.
What could have gone wrong? Many things. Someone could have revealed a secret, perhaps unintentionally? Yes, but the gossip would have stuck in the police filter and been explained away.
The assassin, Anti Avsan, could have been recognized; this was his regular beat. Well, he w a s recognized, at the most dangerous spot and at the most crucial time! Yes, but the special kind of security thinking held. For seven years, no one sounded the alarm about Anneli and Anki, addressing Avsan in Finnish (!) in front of Dekorima. When the lid blew off, late in 1992, the investigators (of their own crime) may however have been slightly worried.
Operation Hush-Hush was launched, but intensive hushing up by diligent police officers at work led to the dimming of the whole Avsan story, and in 1999 the new Enquiry Commission reduced Avsan´s activities at Dekorima to nil. He was never there, he did not shoot… The Commission instead boosted Christer Pettersson´s guilt, and Anti Avsan, never mentioned by name in Swedish media, could, undisturbed by these media, commence his career up to the Stockholm Court of Justice, not to mention up to the Swedish Riksdag, for the Moderates. The Moderate MPs have been advised by me to read my book The Palme Murder; The Anti Avsan Affair, 2008, -09. To no avail.
The emergency brake had worked, so full speed ahead!
So much for background. Very much of this summary, not at all complete, has been left out by the Palme police unit, been left out or distorted.
And life and time goes on, after Zero Hour. Does the formal investigation go on? Hardly, since the civil servants at Polhemsgatan HQ know in detail, in minute detail, how the murder transpired. Anamnesia. Diagnosis. No use, really, to pretend to investigate what is so well known within the Palme Unit. A well cemented unit.
I have from time to time handed over relevant information to the Palme Unit, but the information has never been accepted, never looked into. I have, for instance, asked what has happened to the Lisbeth/Nilzén incident at Sabbatsberg, but this quite decisive episode has left no track on the orange-red covers in the police vault, so securely closed.
”Let us handle the Palme story, we do not need the assistance of news-mongers. Lisbeth Palme was hit – must Sven Anér question our every statement?”, the unit people seem to ask.
Why was this sordid, almost non-existent police inquiry never, in detail, questioned by media journalists? I can truly say that I never understood why not. Disclosures, small or big, create perspective and contour. How could journalists have believed that Christer Pettersson, officially under suspicion 1998-1998, unofficially suspected to this day, although dead, was Olof Palmes assassin? Swaying throgh the streets of Stockholm, always tipsy, often dead drunk – and he should have been the military-minded organizer of Sweden´s most complicated murder ever?
My colleagues, did you never grasp the absurdity?
How could the murder site have been so undisturbedly positioned at Dekorima, where all the people walked?
How could the very many policemen round Brunkeberg Hill have been accepted by journalists as natural elements of ordinary Stockholm police activities?
Did you never wonder?
Did you never wonder at the Prime Minister and his wife leisurely walking through the city streets of the night, unguarded, near midnight in the chill?
Why were you always so willing to explain away remarkable matters?
Why did you let me be the only one to single out Olof Palme´s assassin, now City Judge and Conservative member of the Swedish Riksdag?
An instance: Avsan, when asked this year by an elder police Colleague whether he was Olof Palme´s killer, evades the sharp question but answers:
”Oh, oh, we have so many good people behind us that you will never take us!”
This, of course, is consent:
”Yes, me and my buddies we were behind all this – and we still are!”
I walk through life considering myself to be reasonably honest, and I do not expect anyone to ”take” me. But Avsan does, he says so himself:
”There are some who wish to take me and my comrades, but we have our staunch supporters.”
An odd kind of life.
I notice that I am approaching the legal side of this affair. When I am in a sad mood I say to myself that there is no legality whatsoever, of the old, honest kind. A court judges impartially, that should be the base.
In the Palme Affair there is little court justice. ”Stockholms tingsrätt” and ”Svea hovrätt” glanced at Christer Pettersson and eventually did not condemn him, but they could have done much more. Something definite.
When the accusation against Pettersson was placed before the first of these courts, it should have been easy for the presiding judge to establish that Roger Östlund, alleged main witness for the prosecution, never had entered the picture. He was supposed to have placed a telephone call to drug dealer Sigge Cedergren, but this call, according to police minutes, actually came from Roger C e d e r g r e n , who was Sigge´s younger brother. Police had listened in, but their protocol was doubly falsified, which could have been easily seen by police, attorneys and judge, if they had wanted to. But no one wanted to go to the bottom and thus get Christer Pettersson, once and for all, off the hook.
If so, the case would probably never have reached the higher level of jurisdiction, nor would then the National Attorney have applied to the Supreme Court for review of the Pettersson case, based on doubtful ”new evidence”. Review was denied. What happened, now that no review was granted? The conspirators have had to start afresh but without Christer Pettersson, who was never connected with the Palme murder. Never.
But this murder went to court just once, with Christer Pettersson. Police and at least ten attorneys-at-law, with wide conscience, always pretended to believe what their police offers told them; it is Pettersson.
Take the entire Avsan Affair, which was never addressed by a critical judge because it never reached one. Only these mild attorneys who chose to swallow chatterboxes like Hans Ölvebro, the police inspector in charge, and similar persons. The attorneys never distrusted their police colleagues, who in some way managed to get hold of Avsan for a light interview, in spite of their allegation that they never found him – the Avsan Affair is full of absurd contradictions.
My good friend and colleague Olle Alsén, who found Avsan (one of the most exciting stories connected with the Palme murder), had many recorded telephone calls with the police officer in charge, Hans Ölvebro or his next-in-command, Lars Jonsson, dutifully following in Ölvebro´s footsteps. It is notable, however, how openly Jonsson expresses himself in this dialogue, never before published:
Jonsson: Well, showing one picture, or two… We do not show people pictures until we have a situation where we have not been able to identify a culprit in another way, or where we are pretty sure that we have got our man. But since our present information is so vague, we must really be sure in advance where we stand…
/Jonsson is obviously unwilling to confront Avsan with the two young witnesses from Dekorima – naturally, since Jonsson knows that his man is Avsan!/
Alsén: But would it matter if no result were reached, why can´t you just try? I showed a photo of Avsan /at the Upplands-Väsby gym which Avsan used to visit/, and of course this was perhaps not the right thing to do in a criminal matter, but I never said that this had to do with the Palme murder. I showed the Avsan picture to seven persons. One thought it resembled while one was certain, this shouldnt be irrelevant.
Jonsson: People want to help, they think this could be him. Then you go back to him showing a new photo – the possibility of a sure identification has disappeared.
Alsén: Yes, but if this is the only way?
Jonsson: Yes but if…
Alsén: You do not believe the original story, is that it?
Jonsson: No… well… the two girls have perhaps been in the city, and they have experienced something, but there is something that does not tally.
Alsén: But you cannot really know until you know…
End of page, but the long conversations go on. Go on to show that neither Ölvebro nor Jonsson will have anything to do with these girls. They are just causing trouble, and mole-hills become mountains, like when we talk to an unwilling child. Then everything becomes so difficult.
This Jonsson interview is clear. Police could have heard Avsan on a regular basis, but that was not part of the pattern.
The background is frightening. Jonsson knows, during the conversation with Alsén, that Anti Avsan is Olof Palme´s murderer. Jonsson knows, because he was one of those who hired him…
Alsén handed over some of his conversations, on paper, to the police authorities and had them registered and thus entered among the official murder documents; if this goes also for the Jonsson conversation I do not know.
It hurts when I specify: Police inquirers, who hired Olof Palme´s murderer, refuse to confront the two girls with pictures of Avsan, let alon confront them with Avsan live! You cannot get deeper. The attorneys do not object, and Sweden´s Courts were never informed.
I have never really been contradicted, over the years, the 27 years. And on many many occasions, especially during these last weeks, I have come across ominous proof of blatant criminal activities on the part of the authorities, criminal activities directly linked to the assassination of a Prime Minister. I protest, but I am whisked away.
The almost unbelievable incident of Olof Palme´s doubly faked patient´s hospital journal is still officially unsolved. I approached Premier Fredrik Reinfeldts ex-wife Filippa, head of Stockholm hospitals, and ”socialstyrelsen”, the State Board of Social Services, asking them to investigate.
Filippa Reinfeldt never really answered my question whether the Journal was faked. Instead she insisted, in her official answer, that her Stockholm Board had no means of knowing if the journal in question had been falsified, and she did not care. She had no responsibility, and if I were so anxious to be informed, I ought to apply to Police HQ, she or her people did not intend to. It was Police HQ who had , back in 1989, given me the spurious journal…
And my original question was left unanswered.
The State Social Board, on the other hand, reported that the Board did not have to go to Court with such an irrelevant matter. No one had suffere the Board said, hinting that Olof Palme was probably dead anyway, before arrival at Sabbatsberg Hospital.
An incredible statement, massive in its cynicism.
My questions were never answered, but I received answers. This is what happens, along the line. Police, attorneys, Government institutions give me answers, of a kind, but the answers rarely apply to my distinct questions. This does not seem to matter. Once I have had their few lines I should be happy, the matter has been handled and is dead.
In Kafka Land.
I read what I have just written. There is nothing I would like to change. I might add black trimmings, which would only strengthen my thesis: the Palme Story is an enormous black lie, supported to this day by all important Swedish powers. It is my hope that international search-light on national Swedish shortcomings will, in the end, the near end, cause truth to win.
